Public Notices NOTICE OF SHIP FUNDING AVAILABILITY MONROE COUNTY STATE HOUSING INITIATIVE PARTNERSHIP (SHIP) PROGRAM FISCAL YEAR 2026- 2027 Monroe County anticipates receiving $595,849 in State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) Program funds for Fiscal Year 2026 – 2027 (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027). SHIP Funds will be used to provide assistance in accordance with the Monroe County 2025-26, 2026-27, 2027-28 Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP). The following Housing Strategies are authorized within the current County LHAP: 1. Home Buyer Assistance 2. Owner Occupied Rehabilitation 3. Owner Occupied Disaster Relief (only upon Federal/State declared disaster). Monroe County will be accepting applications for the above listed strategies during the application period starting November 1, 2026, and will continue to accept applications until June 30, 2027 or until all available funds are expended. Program information, applications, and the County’s Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP) are available on the County’s website and upon request. All applications will be accepted on a first-qualified, first-served basis. First priority will be given to eligible applicants that meet both the definition of Special Needs (F.S. 420.0004(13)) and Very Low Income. Second Priority will be given to eligible applicants that meet the definitions of either Special Needs (F.S. 420.0004(13)) or Very Low Income. Third priority will be given to applicants that meet the definition of Essential Service Personnel as defined within the County’s LHAP. Awards for all strategies are subject to the availability of funds. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.
